Emergency Children's Shelter

K’STAR Emergency Shelter provides nurture and support for displaced children. Through the practice of Trauma-Informed Care, we can start the process of healing the abuse, neglect, and trauma suffered in their early years. Our home can house up to twenty children ages birth to seventeen, with one bed reserved for victims of sex trafficking. Children are placed with us through the Texas Department of Family Protective Services and Belong.

Counseling

It is our goal to help families develop the skills they need to remain together in a safe and loving environment for all involved. Our family and youth counseling services are provided free of charge, confidential, and aim to prevent runaways, truancy, abuse, and neglect. Our counseling services are curriculum-based interventions such a as anger management sessions, teaching coping skills to help with anxiety, depression, school difficulties, and many other areas of need. We maintain a crisis hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for children and parents. We proudly serve 14 Texas Hill Country counties. Parenting Classes

Improve your family dynamic with parenting classes and family counseling. For youth in distress that affects their ability or willingness to attend school, we offer truancy prevention and dropout counseling sessions.

In the event that a court of law requires you to attend parenting classes, we offer a class once a week for six weeks. At the successful conclusion of the class, you receive a certificate of completition to turn in to meet Child Protective Services, court, or probation requirements.
